STRETCH THERAPY

Stretch Therapy is the scientific application of a range of techniques to treat certain physical issues associated with tight muscles and restricted joints. The benefits include:

  • Improves range of motion: Simply put, stretching makes it easier to keep moving by lubricating joints and enhancing and maintaining range of motion. It improves tissue oxygenation, increases blood flow, provides your muscles with nutrients, and helps to remove metabolic waste.
  • Reduce muscle and joint pain: Stretching helps to alleviate muscle tension, reducing pain in sore areas and can aid in injury and pain prevention.
  • Improved posture: Stiffness can set in when you don’t use muscles often enough, while pain can result from using them the wrong way. Stretching gives you better posture and improves blood flow through connective tissues that may be knotted up and causing pain.
  • Reduce stress: Stretching benefits both your physical well-being and your mental health, as it allows the blood and oxygen to flow better, improving mental clarity.
  • Improves your performance: Muscles work best when they’re long and joints work best when they’re flexible.  Dynamic stretching helps to achieve that and it also elevates blood flow and can improve heart rate.

What to expect > Your stretch won’t be painful, but your stretchologist will communicate with you throughout your stretch to gauge your comfort level. It’s best to wear clothes you feel comfortable moving in. People wear workout clothes, gym shorts, yoga pants, T-shirts, etc. Jeans and slacks tend to restrict your mobility so we suggest not wearing those types of materials. We require socks for your safety and hygiene.

REFLEXOLOGY

This therapy is an alternative holistic procedure involving application of pressure to the feet with specific thumb, finger, and hand techniques. There are over 7000 nerve endings on the bottom of your feet that correlate to every organ and system in your body. Applying pressure to each point stimulates the nervous system and opens energy pathways that may be blocked or congested.

REIKI

A Japanese healing therapy, Reiki restores the body to equilibrium through the transfer of beneficial energy. It helps to release energy blocks to improve the flow of energy throughout the chakras and meridians of the body. The treatment can be localized to the site of a specific ailment or conducted across the body. Reiki is not a massage, yet you will enjoy feelings of warmth and comfort, and may very well find yourself in a deep state of relaxation.

FLOAT THERAPY

The idea behind floating is to minimize or completely remove the sensory input to your brain allowing a greater focus and deeper meditation. Floating triggers both physical and mental benefits. Float therapy is a powerful tool for wellness, relaxation, pain relief and better sleep. It offers relief and benefits which are cumulative, with regular use its benefits are enhanced.

The low-gravity/near-weightless environment of floating allows for the muscles and joints of the body to relax, increasing blood flow and helping to more quickly repair muscle tissues and heal the body. Floatation therapy has also been shown to assist with pain management, ease chronic pains and increase immune system functioning. Studies have shown the use of floatation therapy to be extremely beneficial for relaxation and mental health. The lack of external stimuli aides in stress reduction and Sensory deprivation allows the mind to enter into the theta state, a somewhat dreamlike state that most people only experience when on the verge of sleep or right after waking in the morning. The mental benefits of floating include; increased creativity, increased sensory acuity, aids insomnia/helps maintain a healthy level of sleep and offers a natural increase in dopamine and other neurotransmitters, which create feelings of euphoria and aid mental relaxation.

The floatation pod has approximately 10 inches of water saturated with 1,000 lbs. of pharmaceutical grade Epsom salt and the water is heated to skin temperature (93.5 F). Epsom salts aid in joint pain, ease stress, and naturally relax the body. Magnesium (commonly missing from our diets) is absorbed through the skin, while Sulfate eliminates toxins and heavy metals, naturally detoxing the body.
